Arthroscopic Bankart Repair in India | Manipal Hospitals

Arthroscopic Bankart repair is primarily used for recurrent shoulder dislocations or subluxations (partial dislocations) resulting from a Bankart lesion, which involves a tear of the labrum.

The procedure involves making small incisions around the shoulder joint to insert the arthroscope and instruments. The torn labrum is then reattached to the glenoid using sutures and small anchors, which are inserted into the bone to hold the labrum in place as it heals.

Compared to open surgery, arthroscopic Bankart repair is less invasive, leading to smaller incisions, quicker recovery times, and lower complication rates.

Arthroscopic Bankart repair is a successful option for restoring shoulder stability and is commonly used in athletes, including contact athletes.
