The rate of growth can be very different among children, but a rule of thumb average for normal growth is considered to be:
Months 0-12: growth of around 10 inches
Years 1-2: around 5 inches per year
Years 2-3: around 3 ½ inches per year
Year 3 to puberty: around 2 to 2 ½ inches per year
It is possible to fall outside these ranges and still have normal growth, consult a paediatric endocrinologist to know more.
