Thyroid Screening:

  • Radioactive Iodine Uptake Test (RAIU) or Thyroid Uptake: This is a type of nuclear medicine imaging that uses small amounts of radioactive material to measure thyroid function.

  • Dotanoc FDA PET Scan: Ga-68-DOTATOC radioactive drug is used to detect somatostatin receptor-positive neuroendocrine tumours (NETs).

  • Advanced Robotic Surgery for Thyroid Nodules (Parathyroid adenoma): A minimally invasive robot-assisted surgical technique that involves removal of complete or a part of the thyroid gland.

  • Thyroid Cancers: Thyroid cancers that occur in the cell of the thyroid can be diagnosed and treated using:

    • Physical Examination

    • Blood Tests

    • Ultrasound Imaging

    • Biopsy

    • Genetic Testing


  • Thyroidectomy: This surgery is performed to treat thyroid cancers which may involve,

    • Total Thyroidectomy: Complete removal of the thyroid tissue.

    • Near-total Thyroidectomy: Most of the thyroid tissue is removed.

  • Thyroid Lobectomy: Half of the thyroid gland is removed.

  • Lymph Node Dissection: Nearby lymph nodes are removed.

Thyroid Hormone Therapy: 

  • After removal of the thyroid gland, medication is prescribed to suppress the secretion of TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone). 

  • Radioactive iodine is used to treat recurrent cancer.
