A gynecologist is a doctor who specializes in women's reproductive health. Obstetricians care for women during their pregnancy and just after the baby is born. They also deliver babies. An ob-gyn is trained to do all of these things.
Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBG) combine the study and treatment of the female reproductive system. Obstetrician deals with childbirth and delivery. At the same time, gynaecologist deals with the treatment of reproductive organs. OBG also deals with the treatment of hormonal problems and infertility.
Some examples of OBG treatment are cesarean, removal of ovarian cysts, hysterectomy, infertility treatment, and treatment of anaemia. OBG also treats various gynecologic cancers, including cervical, uterine, and vaginal cancer.
