Dr. Gaurav Rastogi

Dr. Gaurav Rastogi is a national board-certified orthopaedic surgeon in Delhi with more than 15 years of experience. He is a fellowship-trained specialist in treating problems related to shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. Dr. Gaurav completed his under graduation (MBBS) and post-graduation (MS Orthopaedics) from the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College securing a state rank 2 in the post-graduate entrance examination. He then further passed DNB (Orthopaedics) and became a member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (MNAMS). He then worked as a senior resident for 3 years in one of the biggest government hospitals in Delhi (Lok Nayak Hospital & GB Pant Hospital with attached Maulana Azad Medical College) which included a 6-month compulsory rotation in Sushruta Trauma Centre. Working in a large public hospital gave him a free hand on Surgeries of Fractures of both the upper and lower extremities. 

Upon completion of his senior residency, he was appointed to the post of Assistant Professor, Department of Orthopaedics, Hindurao Hospital and associated North Delhi Municipal Corporation Medical College. After serving 6 months there, he secured the prestigious Fellowship in Sports Surgery at Arcus Sportsklinik, Pforzheim, Germany where he was exposed to complex surgeries of Shoulder and Elbow. After obtaining experience in German Healthcare he decided to move to England to pursue his passion for training himself in the field of Surgeries for Upper Limb problems (shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand) securing a 2 year long Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh accredited MTI Fellowship, where he worked at the post of Specialist Registrar in Sunderland Royal Hospital, North East England.

Working in a District General Hospital gave him ample free hand training in all kinds of fractures esp fractures of the Hip in the elderly population. He pursued his superspecialist training there completing a 6-month rotation in the Department of Shoulder & Elbow, Department of Hand Reconstruction, Department of Hip Replacement, and Department of Knee Arthroscopy and Replacement respectively over 2 years. Simultaneously, he completed his MCH in Orthopaedic Surgery from James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, UK. He briefly worked in one of the biggest trauma centres in the United Kingdom at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham managing Polytrauma patients (Individuals with multiple fractures eg. accident victims etc). 

Adding a feather to his cap he successfully secured the job of Senior Upper Limb Clinical Fellow at Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, England where he gained further experience in complex shoulder and elbow problems including both Arthroscopy and Shoulder Replacement. In 2018, after spending 3 fruitful years in England, Dr. Gaurav Rastogi joined Manipal Hospital, Dwarka as a senior consultant orthopaedic surgeon. Carrying forward his legacy, he performed the first Reverse shoulder replacement in Dwarka region in 2019 championing a surgery which would become the workhorse of Shoulder Arthritis and complex Shoulder Fractures in the coming years. Dr. Gaurav Rastogi is an eminent faculty in several orthopaedic organizations in India delivering talks and papers in national and international forums.
