Top Paediatric Urology Hospital in Sarjapur Road

Paediatric Urology is a specialised branch of urology that deals with problems in children relating to the Genito-urinary system. This includes the kidneys, bladder, urethra, Paediatric, and male reproductive organs. Paediatric urologists are trained to deal with the unique problems that can occur in children, which may differ from those seen in adults. Common issues that paediatric urologists treat include bedwetting, urinary tract infections, undescended testicles, and problems with the genitals. Paediatric urologists also treat children with congenital abnormalities of the Genito-urinary system, such as hypospadias and epispadias. Paediatric urology is a highly specialised field, and there are only a limited number of paediatric urologists in practice. However, they play a vital role in caring for children with Genito-urinary problems and can make a real difference in the lives of their patients. A urologist attains their qualification like any other doctor. They first get their medical degree and then attain their specialisation.

Facilities & Services

Paediatric urology is a branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of urological conditions in children. These conditions can include urinary tract infections, bedwetting, kidney stones, and congenital abnormalities of the urinary tract. Paediatric urologists use a variety of techniques to treat these conditions, including medication, surgery, and lifestyle changes.

Chemotherapy can provide adverse impacts that vary from mild to severe depending upon the type of treatment. Some patients may experience few, while others with no adverse effects. It works by interfering with the cancerous cells' ability to grow. It can be used for the treatment of many different types of cancers. It is necessary to diagnose cancer as soon as possible. However, chemotherapy has a wide range of adverse effects, such as,

  • Nausea and vomiting

  • Infection

  • Hearing impairment

  • Bleeding problems

  • Fatigue

  • Anaemia

  • Hair loss

Some common paediatric urological conditions include urinary tract infections, vesicoureteral reflux, hydronephrosis, and urolithiasis. Other less common conditions include ureteropelvic junction obstruction, urethral valves, and bladder exstrophy.

They are various methods for giving Radiation therapy to a person base methods include,

  • Internal radiation: Internal radiation, also known as Brachytherapy, is a type of radiation therapy in which a sealed radiation source is placed inside or near the area to be treated.

  • Systemic radiation: In systematic radiation, radioactive drugs are given in the mouth of the patient or put into their wind for the treatment of certain types of cancers; and this drug travels throughout the body.

Photodynamic therapy: Photodynamic therapy is a special type of treatment that uses a special drug which is also known as a photosensitizing agent, along with lights to kill or damage cancer cells in the body.

Paediatric urological conditions are generally diagnosed through a combination of clinical examination, laboratory testing, and imaging studies. Some common methods used to diagnose paediatric urological conditions include urine tests, imaging tests (e.g. ultrasounds, X-rays, MRIs), and/or biopsies.

There are two types of factors that contribute to why cancer is caused. One is a predisposition or tendency of a person to develop cancer, while the other factor is the exposure to factors that trigger the disease itself. Examples of such triggers are environmental toxins, cigarettes, sun exposure, or also liver damage.

There are many long-term implications of paediatric urological conditions. Some of these implications include urinary incontinence, urinary tract infections, kidney damage, and infertility. They are treated by paediatric urologists based on the condition and symptoms that are specific to the patient.

Most doctors think that a lot of cancers can indeed be prevented. Certain established preventive methods include preventing sun damage, consuming a low-fat diet, and also getting regular Pap smear tests. It is very important to understand that many patients who get cancer do not have known risk factors. But could be prevented if they had more information.

The long-term implications of paediatric urological conditions depend on the specific condition that the patient is suffering from, and the patients are thereby treated accordingly. Some conditions may get resolved spontaneously, while others may require lifelong management.

This really depends on the cancer stage and on the patient. For example, in breast cancer, if the woman is postmenopausal, then the best treatment is a hormone tablet. However, if the woman is premenopausal, then the treatment is chemotherapy.
