Avoid eating very spicy foods or heavily seasoned foods. Other foods to avoid include dry red meat, greasy, high-fat foods, and artificial sweeteners such as xylitol, sorbitol, mannitol, erythritol, etc. 

 

In the case of a temporary Ileostomy, while the surgical repair heals, you may have to wear the pouch for 3 to 6 months.
