Treatment for Urological Interventions in Hebbal, Bangalore

Urological Interventions Treatment in Hebbal, Bangalore are medical procedures that treat problems with the urinary system. These procedures can treat urinary incontinence, urinary tract infections, and kidney stones. Urological interventions can also be used to diagnose and treat prostate cancer. There are many urological interventions, but some of the most common are cystoscopy, urodynamic testing, and biopsy.

  • Pre-Procedure

Preoperative preparation for urological interventions is like general surgery, except for carefully reviewing the patient's medications. In addition, patients are often asked to start a course of antibiotics at the time of their visit to the urology clinic before their procedure.

The patient is asked to arrive at the urology clinic 2 hours before their procedure. The nurse will then complete a preoperative checklist with the patient and their significant other. The patient will be asked to empty their bladder before the procedure. The nurse will also review the medications the patient is taking. The patient will be asked to stop taking any blood-thinning medicines (Aspirin, Coumadin, Plavix, etc.) for five days before the procedure.

The patient will also be asked if they have ever reacted to any medication, as this may be a contraindication to using certain antibiotics. The patient will then be asked to sign a consent form for the procedure. The consent form will list the procedure's risks, benefits, and alternatives. The patient will be given a copy of the consent form to take home.

  • Procedure

The specifics of a urological intervention will depend on the condition being treated, but some general steps are followed. First, the patient will be given a local anaesthetic to numb the area to be treated. A small incision will then be made, and a tiny camera will be inserted. This camera will allow the doctor to see the area and make necessary repairs. Once the repairs are made, the camera will be removed, and the incision will be closed.

  • Post- Procedure

The postoperative care of patients undergoing urological procedures requires careful attention to detail. The patient is placed in a supine position, with the head of the bed elevated at 30–45 degrees. An indwelling urinary catheter is inserted in all patients and is maintained for 24–48 hours (about two days). All patients are given a subcutaneous injection of heparin after the procedure. The patient is also on bed rest for several hours to prevent dislodging of the clot. In addition, the patient is instructed to drink plenty of fluids to maintain urine output and prevent the formation of a urinary tract infection.
