You have a precancerous condition known as intestinal metaplasia, which starts when cells on the inner lining of the stomach become abnormal. They then turn into cells similar to those found in the intestines, which can lead to gastric cancer over time; or
You have an early stage (stage 0 or 1) adenocarcinoma that has not spread outside your stomach yet; or
You have stage 2 or 3 adenocarcinomas that have spread outside your stomach; or
You have a stage 1, 2 or 3 gastric cancer that has come back (recurred) after treatment; or
You have liver metastases from gastric cancer that has spread there.
