Dr. Priyanka Gupta is an accomplished paediatrician and neonatologist in Varthur, with over a decade of clinical experience. She currently serves as an Associate Consultant – Paediatrics at Manipal Hospital Varthur, where she provides comprehensive care spanning newborn medicine, paediatric emergencies, growth and development monitoring, and preventive child health. Known for her meticulous clinical approach, strong academic foundation, and exceptional neonatal skills, she is regarded as a dependable specialist for both routine and high-risk paediatric care.
Dr. Priyanka completed her MBBS from R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital (WBUHS), graduating as a silver medallist in Microbiology, and pursued her MD in Paediatrics from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU)—one of India’s most prestigious medical institutions. She further advanced her expertise through a Fellowship in Neonatology (FIPM, RGUHS), gaining extensive hands-on experience in level-III NICU care, neonatal stabilization, and complex newborn management. In addition, she has cleared the MRCPCH (UK) theory examinations, reflecting her commitment to maintaining global standards in paediatric practice.
Across her career, Dr. Priyanka has managed neonatal and paediatric cases in high-acuity settings, including NICU, PICU, emergency departments, and multidisciplinary paediatric units. As a Fellow in Neonatology at Narayana Health, she handled critically ill neonates requiring ventilatory support, surfactant therapy, exchange transfusions, advanced cannulations, and intensive monitoring. Her training also included neonatal resuscitation in high-risk deliveries, immediate post-birth stabilization, and establishing protocols for parent counselling and quality-improvement initiatives. She has experience in paediatric cardiology as a Senior Resident at B.M. Birla Heart Research Institute, and managed diverse paediatric emergencies during her tenure at Dr. B.C. Roy Post Graduate Institute of Pediatric Sciences, Kolkata.
Her clinical strengths include NICU and PICU management, neonatal resuscitation, pediatric emergency care, growth and developmental assessments, immunisation services, and advanced paediatric procedures such as intubations, lumbar puncture, peritoneal dialysis, and central/peripheral line insertion. She is strongly focused on preventive paediatrics, ensuring early screening for developmental delays, nutrition concerns, infectious illnesses, congenital disorders, and metabolic conditions. Her approach emphasises empathetic counselling, enabling parents to understand medical conditions, treatment choices, and long-term care goals with clarity and confidence.
Dr. Priyanka’s academic contributions include research on renal, neonatal, and metabolic disorders. Her work “Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis in Primary Sjögren’s Syndrome” has been featured in the Asian Journal of Pediatric Nephrology. Her MD thesis—evaluating the role of expressed breast milk for oral care in ventilated neonates—reflects her interest in evidence-based neonatal nutrition and infection prevention. She has presented scientific papers at PEDICON, NEOCON, and other paediatric conferences, covering topics such as hypercalcemic crisis and neonatal care improvements. A member of the National Neonatology Forum (NNF), she stays closely involved in updated neonatal guidelines, quality benchmarks, and training practices. Her additional certifications include NRP (IAP), ALS/BLS, and multiple workshops on dialysis, hypothermia protocols, ABG interpretation, lysosomal storage disorders, and inborn errors of metabolism—reinforcing her commitment to continuous clinical learning.
Fluent in English, Hindi, and Bengali, she connects effectively with families from diverse backgrounds, creating a comfortable environment for both children and parents. With her strong clinical acumen, advanced neonatal training, and dedication to compassionate family-centred care, Dr. Priyanka Gupta stands as a trusted Paediatric and Neonatal Specialist at Manipal Hospital Varthur, offering safe, modern, and comprehensive care for newborns, infants, and children.
