  • Dr. Gururaj V. Gunda is a dedicated and highly trained Intensivist in Varthur Road, Bangalore. He’s currently practising as a Consultant - Critical Care Medicine (ICU) at Manipal Hospital Varthur Road, with extensive experience in managing complex and life-threatening medical, surgical, transplant, and trauma patients.   • Dr. Gururaj previously served as a Resident in Critical Care Medicine at Manipal Hospital Old Airport Road, from 2020 to 2023. His clinical experience also includes junior residency in General Medicine as well as senior residency in reputed hospitals, playing a key role in managing COVID wards and ICUs during the first wave of the pandemic. 

  • He is trained in providing quaternary-level care to complex, multidisciplinary ICU patients, including those requiring advanced support such as CRRT, SLEDD, invasive ICP monitoring, plasmapheresis, VV-ECMO, VA-ECMO, IABP monitoring, and extracorporeal therapies for sepsis, including Cytosorb and Oxiris filters. His procedural expertise includes central venous access, hemodialysis catheter insertion, arterial line placement, percutaneous tracheostomy, bronchoscopy with BAL sampling, bronchoscopy-guided intubation, lumbar puncture, ICD insertion, pigtail insertion, and bone marrow sampling. He is also proficient in POCUS, transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), transcranial Doppler, advanced ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and neuromonitoring.

  • Dr. Gururaj V. Gunda is a dedicated and highly trained Intensivist in Varthur Road, Bangalore. He’s currently practising as a Consultant - Critical Care Medicine (ICU) at Manipal Hospital Varthur Road, with extensive experience in managing complex and life-threatening medical, surgical, transplant, and trauma patients. Known for his responsible, hardworking, and patient-centric approach, he strongly believes in teamwork, evidence-based practice, and empathetic care to improve outcomes for critically ill patients across all age groups.

  • He has completed his MBBS from JSS Medical College, Mysuru, followed by MD and DNB in General Medicine in 2020. He went on to pursue DrNB in Critical Care Medicine at Manipal Hospitals, Old Airport Road, Bengaluru, after securing an All India Rank 83 in NEET SS 2020, reflecting his strong academic foundation and commitment to excellence. He has undergone rigorous training in high-intensity quaternary care settings that manage approximately 3,000 critically ill patients annually, including exposure to Level IV trauma care and advanced multi-organ support systems.

  • Dr. Gururaj previously served as a Resident in Critical Care Medicine at Manipal Hospital Old Airport Road, from 2020 to 2023. His clinical experience also includes junior residency in General Medicine as well as senior residency in reputed hospitals, playing a key role in managing COVID wards and ICUs during the first wave of the pandemic. 

  • He is trained in providing quaternary-level care to complex, multidisciplinary ICU patients, including those requiring advanced support such as CRRT, SLEDD, invasive ICP monitoring, plasmapheresis, VV-ECMO, VA-ECMO, IABP monitoring, and extracorporeal therapies for sepsis, including Cytosorb and Oxiris filters. His procedural expertise includes central venous access, hemodialysis catheter insertion, arterial line placement, percutaneous tracheostomy, bronchoscopy with BAL sampling, bronchoscopy-guided intubation, lumbar puncture, ICD insertion, pigtail insertion, and bone marrow sampling. He is also proficient in POCUS, transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), transcranial Doppler, advanced ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and neuromonitoring.

  • A strong advocate of antimicrobial stewardship, infection control, diagnostic stewardship, end-of-life care, and ethical palliative care, Dr. Gururaj follows a holistic ICU vision centred on intensivist-led multidisciplinary care, empathy-driven practices, and world-class standards of treatment. He is also actively involved in teaching and training, contributing to capacity building within critical care teams.
