Over the course of his career, Mr. Shanker has developed advanced expertise in orthopaedic rehabilitation, including post-operative recovery following joint replacements, ligament reconstruction, spinal surgeries, and trauma cases. His approach integrates biomechanical correction, functional retraining, and evidence-based manual therapy techniques to help patients regain mobility, balance, and strength. As a Fellow in Osteopathy and Manipulation Therapy (FOMT) and a Certified Manual Therapist (FIMT), he applies precise manual interventions to address joint restrictions, soft tissue dysfunctions, and neuromuscular imbalances, ensuring optimal musculoskeletal alignment and pain relief.
Mr. Shanker’s clinical interests also extend to neurorehabilitation, where he has worked extensively with patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury, focusing on neuroplasticity-driven therapy and motor relearning techniques. He employs neural mobilisation and functional task training to facilitate motor control, sensory integration, and postural stability, thereby enabling patients to return to independent living. His experience in plastic surgery rehabilitation further adds to his repertoire, as he assists post-surgical patients in regaining flexibility, function, and muscular coordination through structured and progressive physiotherapy regimens.
A certified practitioner in Dry Needling (CDNP) and Taping Techniques, Mr. Shanker effectively uses these modalities to manage chronic pain, reduce inflammation, and support joint stability in sports and orthopaedic conditions. His proficiency as an Office Ergonomic Analyst allows him to provide preventive physiotherapy solutions to working professionals, reducing the risk of repetitive strain injuries and posture-related musculoskeletal issues common in sedentary occupations.
Beyond his clinical expertise, Mr. Shanker has been recognised with several prestigious awards, including the CEO Pride Award and the Manyata Pride Award at Manipal Hospital Bangalore, acknowledging his outstanding contributions to patient care and rehabilitation excellence. His deep commitment to continuing education, coupled with his hands-on experience, reflects his dedication to advancing physiotherapy practice and enhancing patient outcomes.
Fluent in English, Hindi, Kannada, and Bengali, he ensures seamless communication and rapport with a diverse patient base, making therapy both accessible and personalised. His sessions emphasise not just physical recovery but also patient empowerment—educating individuals about posture correction, body mechanics, and preventive exercise routines to sustain long-term musculoskeletal health.
