Mr. Satwinder's recovery from Guillain-Barre | Dr. Naveen | Manipal Hospitals Old Airport Road
Mr. Satwinder Singh Sudan, 51, was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), a rare neurological disorder, leaving him in critical condition with quadriplegia. After initial treatment in Mumbai, he moved to Manipal Hospitals Old Airport Road, Bengaluru, for intensive rehabilitation. Under the care of Dr. Naveen Mathew Jose, Consultant - Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and his team, including Arun Kumar S. and Kalyan Deb, Neuro Physiotherapists, and Swarna Prava Pradhan, Occupational Therapist, Mr. Sudan began his recovery. His program included physical and occupational therapy, neuro-assessment, and advanced tools like Primus, Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), and Balance Master. With dedicated therapy, he progressed from minimal support to walking independently and performing exercises. Grateful for the team's efforts, Mr. Sudan expressed his appreciation for their role in helping him regain independence and quality of life.

Mr. Ashwin’s Stroke Recovery Journey | Dr. Naveen Mathew Jose | Manipal Hospital Old Airport Road
In this video, Mr. Ashwin Sapra shares how he suffered a stroke after landing at the Bangalore Airport and faced one-sided weakness after the event. After initial treatment at a nearby hospital, he recovered, but weakness remained. For two weeks, he was almost bedridden and unable to move his right hand or leg. With structured care and support at Manipal Hospital Old Airport Road, he has now regained strength and mobility, performing daily activities independently and expressing deep gratitude for the dedicated care team. Dr. Naveen Mathew Jose, Consultant – Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Manipal Hospital Old Airport Road, Bangalore, explains that the initial assessment revealed Mr. Ashwin had a Muscle Manual Testing (MMT) score of Grade 1 in the right hand and Grade 2 in the right leg. He was started on a structured neuro-rehabilitation program that included neuromuscular electrical stimulation, balance and gait training, and active-assisted exercises. Over 2 to 3 weeks under the care of Physiotherapists Mrs. Sheryil Nazareth & Mr. Sabya Sachi, his strength improved to Grade 4. With his blood pressure also brought under control, Mr. Ashwin made a remarkable recovery and was able to return to work.
