Mauritius Patient Undergoes Thyroid Surgery | Dr. Satish Nair | Manipal Hospital Old Airport Road
Mr. Vishwadev Seva, a patient from Mauritius, travelled to Manipal Hospital Old Airport Road, Bengaluru, after being diagnosed with a thyroid tumour extending into his chest, deemed inoperable by 5 doctors in Mauritius. Under the care of Dr. Satish Nair, Academic Head & Consultant ENT - Head & Neck Surgeon & Skull Base Surgeon, the large 10 cm thyroid gland, which was pressing near the heart, was removed successfully through a standard neck incision, avoiding the need for opening the chest. Post-surgery, Mr. Seva recovered well and was fit to return home within three days. His daughter expressed deep gratitude for the team's skill and care. Dr. Nair explained that thyroid surgery at Manipal typically involves same-day admission, surgery the next morning, and discharge within 24 hours.
