Mauritian Patient Walks Again |Dr. Samarth Arya & Dr. Neha Mishra| Manipal Hospital Old Airport Road

Years after his 2013 accident, Mauritian resident Mr. Jacques Henri Sylvio began experiencing severe pain, with X-rays and scans revealing that his leg implant had shifted position. Severe bone infection had resulted in a significant limb length discrepancy, causing the implant to sink in. Dr. Samarth Arya, Consultant - Orthopaedics Joint Replacement and Robotic Surgeon and Dr. Neha Mishra, Consultant - Infectious Diseases, at Manipal Hospital Old Airport Road, proceeded with a two-stage treatment: removal of the implant, targeted antibiotics for osteomyelitis, followed by a successful hip replacement.
