  • Dr. Dhananjay Kumar is a Consultant in the Department of Cardiology at Manipal Hospitals, Ranchi, and a highly respected Interventional Cardiologist and expert in Structural Heart procedures. 

  • Renowned across Bihar and Jharkhand, Dr. Kumar has pioneered numerous complex cardiac interventions in the region. His ground breaking contributions include the initiation of advanced procedures such as Artificial Heart (IMPELLA) assisted PCI (highest number of such cases in Eastern India), TEVAR in acute aortic dissection, TAVR/TAVI, TEER (transcutaneous edge to edge valve repair), zero-contrast and zero-metal angioplasty, Rota-ablation and Orbital Atherectomy for calcified lesions, and imaging-guided complex PCI. He has also established conduction system pacing and high-end CRT device implantation, including LOT CRT, as well as leadless pacemaker as routine practices.

  • Dr. Kumar launched MASUM DHADKAN, a unique congenital cardiac disease program offering free device closures for ASD, VSD, and PDA, the first of its kind in a corporate hospital. Under his leadership, the program has achieved remarkable milestones, including the implantation of the largest possible ASD device, a feat accomplished in only a few centres across India. Additionally, Dr. Kumar introduced mechanical circulatory support systems such as IMPELLA and ECMO for high-risk PCI, marking the first time these procedures were performed in Bihar and Jharkhand and establishing his centre as the only facility outside Kolkata in Eastern India to offer such advanced care. Among his many achievements, he performed the first MICRA AV dual-chamber leadless pacemaker implantation in Ranchi. His relentless efforts have revolutionised cardiac care in Jharkhand, reducing the need for patients to travel to metro cities for complex interventions. He is the best cardiologist in Ranchi.

  • Due to his extensive experience in complex interventions, he is now a trainer and proctor for several advanced cardiac procedures, and trains more than 10 interventional cardiologists annually in these high-end techniques. Currently he serves as proctor for: IVUS imaging guided PCI, Physiological assessment of coronary lesion by FFR, IFR, etc, IMPELLA assisted high risk PCI, ROTA ABLATION assisted PCI, Zero contrast and zero metal PCI, ORBITAL Atherectomy assisted PCI, Leadless pacemaker (MICRA), CRT and conduction system pacing.
