Gastrointestinal Treatment in Goa

Pre Procedure

The patient is advised to be on an empty stomach with a minimum of 6-8 hours of fasting.

Patients having any underlying health conditions must inform the doctor immediately.

Women who are pregnant or think they might be pregnant must inform the doctor about their condition.

Before the procedure, admission for a day is needed for observation.

The patient will have to sign a consent form before the test.

Eye glasses, dentures and contact lenses must be removed as they might interfere with the procedure.

The patient will be given a hospital gown and shifted to a private room.
During Procedure

The procedure generally lasts for 2-3 hours and it is performed by a doctor who is assisted by a nurse.

A mouth guard will be given to the patient to ensure that their teeth remains protected throughout the procedure.

A cannula will be placed for injecting IV medications and fluids.

The patient will be given anaesthesia either through injection or inhalation.

Post Procedure
