Dr. (Major) Prakash P is a highly skilled radiologist in Bangalore. He is currently practising as a Consultant – Radiologist at Manipal Hospital, Millers Road, Bangalore, bringing years of advanced clinical expertise in diagnostic and interventional radiology, with a strong focus on fetal imaging, transplant radiology, gastrointestinal radiology, and non-vascular interventions. With an academic foundation that combines MBBS, MD in Radiodiagnosis, a Postgraduate Diploma in Hospital Administration (PGDHA), and formal training in fetal medicine with FMF certification, Dr. (Major) Prakash has built a career defined by precision, innovation, and patient-centred care.
Over the years, Dr. (Major) Prakash has established himself as a versatile radiologist proficient in ultrasound, Doppler studies, CT, MRI, and specialised fetal imaging. His FMF certification for NT scans highlights his commitment to advancing prenatal diagnostics and offering clarity to expecting parents during critical stages of pregnancy. His expertise extends to transplant and gastrointestinal radiology, where his diagnostic insights are vital in both pre- and post-transplant care as well as complex abdominal conditions. Equally, his skills in non-vascular interventional radiology — including procedures such as image-guided biopsies, FNAC, pigtail catheter insertions, and breast interventions — reflect his hands-on ability to combine diagnostic acumen with therapeutic solutions.
His academic contributions and professional development have been consistently recognised by both peers and institutions. Dr. (Major) Prakash has published extensively, with multiple papers in reputed journals such as "Clinical Case Reports International" (2020), "Annals of Clinical Case Reports" (2020), "Indian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology" (2022), "American Journal of Neuroradiology" (2022), and "Apollo Medicine* (2022). These publications not only showcase his depth of knowledge but also his active engagement in advancing medical science through research and case-based evidence.
Beyond research, Dr. (Major) Prakash has shared his expertise as faculty at national and international platforms. His roles as a speaker at IRIA Sonocon (2020), SFM Karnataka Chapter events (2022–2023), the AFSUMB Conference (2022), and Fetomed (2023) illustrate his standing as a thought leader in radiology and fetal medicine. By contributing to scientific discourse and medical training, he plays an important role in shaping the next generation of imaging practices.
His professional memberships further demonstrate his engagement with the broader medical community. He is an active member of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA), the Society of Fetal Medicine (SFM), the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG), the Indian Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ISGAR), the Indian Medical Association (IMA), and the Medical Ultrasound Society of Karnataka (MUSK). These associations reflect both his international orientation and his commitment to professional excellence.
Dr. (Major) Prakash also has a distinguished background of service, having been awarded for participation in significant national operations, including Operation Rakshak (twice), Operation Meghdoot, and Operation Parakram, in addition to high-altitude medals. This unique blend of military discipline and clinical expertise underscores his dedication, resilience, and sense of responsibility — qualities that continue to enrich his medical practice.

Whether it is offering clarity in complex fetal imaging, guiding transplant decisions through radiological insights, or performing minimally invasive image-guided procedures, Dr. (Major) Prakash combines clinical skill with patient empathy. His practice is a testament to the role of radiology as both a diagnostic cornerstone and an interventional ally in modern medicine. Families and patients trust him for his meticulous approach, advanced training, and unwavering dedication to improving health outcomes.
