A rising number of individuals have been falling sick due to influenza, Bengaluru's weather and pollution. According to the doctors, there is a 70 per cent rise in influenza occurrences among patients aged 25 and above, which is an abnormal growth in the number of cases. Avoiding crowded places and maintaining good hygiene and healthy habits to prevent illness is essential. Dr. Deepak R, a Consultant - Pediatric Intensive Care at Rainbow Hospital, noted that influenza is the most common virus implicated this season. As the trend typically starts in October-November, taking one dose of the vaccine between March to May every year will help prevent the viral infection. Further, Dr. Aravinda GM, Consultant - Internal Medicine, Manipal Hospital, stated, Flu vaccines will be available in the market after April to reduce the severity of infections.
