In this video, Dr. Pavan Prasad B. K, Consultant Surgical Oncology at Manipal Hospital Jayanagar, explains the symptoms, risk factors, and diagnostic process for prostate cancer, a condition most common among men aged 50 to 80. Frequent urination, weak urine flow, blood in urine or semen, and difficulty in urination or ejaculation are some early signs, while bone pain or limb swelling may indicate advanced stages. Dr. Pavan advises men above 50 to undergo an abdominal and pelvic ultrasound along with a PSA blood test. Elevated PSA levels and biopsy confirmation help in early detection and timely treatment.
