Know How Self-Breast Examination Aids Early Cancer Detection | Manipal Hospital Jayanagar
Every year, around 1,92,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in India, with many detected at a later stage when the disease has already spread. However, early detection through regular screening and Self-Breast Examination (SBE) can significantly improve outcomes. In this video, Dr. Pavan Prasad B.K., Consultant Surgical Oncology, and Dr. Nitin Yashas Murthy, Consultant Medical Oncology & Hemato-Oncology, Manipal Hospital Jayanagar, discuss the importance of early detection, demonstrate how SBE can be effectively performed, and highlight the role of modern treatments such as targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and hormone therapy in improving survival rates.
