  • Overview

  • Dr. Shambaditya Das is a neurologist with clinical expertise spanning acute stroke care and stroke protocols (including thrombolysis), headache and migraine management, movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, dementia and cognitive disorders, and advanced neurophysiological diagnostics including EEG, NCV, EMG, RNST and Video-EEG studies. He is trained in high-volume academic centres and has been actively involved in both clinical practice and neurological research.

  • Dr. Das completed his MBBS, MD (Internal Medicine) and DM (Neurology) from the Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education & Research (IPGMER), Kolkata, followed by residency at the Bangur Institute of Neurosciences. During his training and subsequent practice, he has worked extensively in stroke clinics, with a particular interest in Moyamoya angiopathy, young stroke, vessel wall imaging and the broader interface between cerebrovascular disease and cognitive outcomes. He has also been involved in structured acute stroke pathways including hyperacute thrombolysis, secondary prevention, and long-term functional follow-up.

  • His work in movement disorders covers Parkinson’s disease, atypical parkinsonism, diabetic striatopathy, dystonia, tremor and metabolic or autoimmune movement disorders. In cognitive neurology, his focus includes Alzheimer’s disease, vascular cognitive impairment and dementia syndromes, with emphasis on neuropsychological assessment and caregiver support in chronic disease models. His expertise in electrophysiology includes EEG for epilepsy and encephalopathy evaluation, and NCS/EMG for peripheral nerve, neuromuscular junction and muscle disorders, enabling comprehensive diagnostic correlation.

  • Dr. Das has presented award-winning research in national and international neurology and stroke platforms including the World Stroke Congress and the Asia Pacific Stroke Conference. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in international indexed journals covering cerebrovascular disease, movement disorders, neuroimmunology and neurometabolic disease. He received the Moyamoya Research Scholarship in 2022 and continues to contribute to long-term cohort follow-up and genetic studies in cerebrovascular disease.

  • His clinical practice philosophy emphasises protocol-based acute care, accurate phenotyping of neurological syndromes, and longitudinal monitoring of functional and cognitive outcomes. With training across emergency neurology, inpatient care and specialist outpatient clinics, Dr. Das offers comprehensive neurological evaluation aligned with current international standards of care.
