    Overview

  • Dr. Sandeep Abhijit Pattnaik is a Clinical Haematologist with expertise spanning bone marrow transplantation, cellular therapies, common hematological disorders, and rare conditions. His training in both laboratory medicine (MD Pathology) and clinical practice (DM Clinical Haematology) provides him with a comprehensive approach to hematological disorders.

  • After completing his MBBS and MD in Pathology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar, Dr. Pattnaik pursued a Post Doctoral Fellowship at TMC, Kolkata under the mentorship of Dr Mammen Chandy and subsequently completed his DM in Clinical Haematology at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi. During his residency at AIIMS Bhubaneswar (2017-2020), he had performed over 100 bone marrow examinations and worked under the mentorship of Dr Somanath Padhi in completing the first-ever COX-2 IHC study in multiple myeloma cases in India. His research papers won the best poster awards at the State (Rank 1) and national (top 10 in India) levels during his residency.

  • Dr. Pattnaik served at one of India's premier and renowned cancer institutes under the leadership of the then Director, Prof Dr Mammen Chandy, where he gained invaluable experience in managing a high volume of hematological malignancies. He was actively involved in the acute leukemia induction unit, managing both pediatric and adult patients through intensive chemotherapy protocols. He played a key role in the lymphoma service, implementing R-CHOP, ABVD, and salvage regimens for refractory cases. His responsibilities extended to the day care chemotherapy unit, where he managed over 40 patients daily receiving various treatment protocols.

  • During his tenure, Dr. Pattnaik participated in weekly molecular tumour boards, collaborating with pathologists, molecular biologists, and radiation oncologists to develop personalised treatment plans. He was involved in the ALTITUDE Study and PRIME Study (Tata Precision Oncology Project), which integrated molecular diagnostics with treatment protocols. Additionally, he contributed to the DARZALEX clinical trial for multiple myeloma patients, managing patient recruitment, treatment administration, and toxicity monitoring. His experience in this high-volume tertiary cancer centre equipped him with expertise in managing complex cases and treatment-related complications like tumour lysis syndrome, febrile neutropenia, and graft-versus-host disease.

  • Overview

  • Overview
