Critically ill children are at increased risk of developing problems with their circulatory system. Hemodynamic monitoring can help doctors identify these problems early by assessing blood flow so that they can be treated quickly and effectively. This can significantly help prevent organ damage in children and improve their chances of survival.
Central Venous Access and PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) Line services are integral parts of a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). These procedures involve placing a catheter into a major vein to provide reliable access for administering medications, fluids, and nutrients directly into the bloodstream.
Critical care for children is challenging as they often get stressed and uncomfortable. Procedural sedation is a way wherein sedatives or pain pills are administered to keep them calm and pain-free while doctors do tests or complex medical procedures.
Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT) may be approached by doctors when children’s kidneys are not working properly. It can temporarily take over the kidney's role using a machine to filter and clean the blood until a matched donor is found.
Bedside EEG and ECG facilities can continuously monitor the heart and brain functions in children admitted to the PICU with critical illnesses. By monitoring the electrical activity, EEG and ECG monitoring can provide doctors with detailed reports about a child's condition. This can help diagnose risks of complications as well as assess the effectiveness…
