Subcutaneous Abscess treatment in Mangalore

Overview:

A subcutaneous abscess refers to a pocket of pus that occurs below or within the surface of the skin. This bump is full of pus or a thick fluid. It can appear on any part of the body and generally occurs because of a bacterial infection. An invasive procedure is usually recommended for treating an abscess. The procedure takes around 10-15 minutes. Before the procedure, betadine solution is applied on the site which is followed by the administration of local anaesthesia via an injection.
A cruciate incision is made by the doctor on the abscess to drain the pus to provide relief to the patient. The swab containing the pus sample is then sent to the laboratory for more examination. After the completion of the procedure, the patient will be prescribed pain killers and antibiotics. Moreover, the site must be kept dry till it gets fully healed.
