CT Imaging in Hebbal, Bangalore

CT imaging, also known as computed tomography (CT) scanning or computed axial tomography (CAT) scanning, is a medical imaging technique that uses special x-ray equipment to create cross-sectional images (often called "slices") of the body. CT imaging is often used to detect bone fractures, cancers, and other abnormalities. The images produced by CT scanning are incredibly detailed and can often show structures that are not visible on regular x-rays.

CT Imaging in Hebbal, Bangalore is also particularly useful for planning surgeries, as it can show the exact location and size of tumours or other abnormalities. CT scanning is a quick and painless procedure and is usually done on an outpatient basis. The entire procedure takes about 30 minutes, and the patient can go home immediately afterward. There are some risks associated with CT imaging, such as exposure to radiation. However, these risks are small, and CT scanning is a very safe procedure.

Pre-Procedure

A CT scan is a medical procedure that uses X-rays and computer technology to create detailed images of your body. Before the procedure, you will be asked to remove any clothing, jewellery, or other objects that may interfere with the scan. You may also be asked to remove any eyeglasses or contact lenses. You will be asked to lie still on a table during the procedure. The table will slide into the CT scanner, which is a large machine with a doughnut-shaped opening.

Procedure

1. The patient arrives at the CT scanning suite and is greeted by the technologist.

2. The technologist reviews the patient's medical history and CT scan order with the patient.

3. The patient is asked to remove any jewellery or other metal objects that could interfere with the CT scan.

4. The patient is asked to lie down on the CT scanning table.

5. The technologist positions the patient's body in the CT scanner.

6. The technologist administers the contrast material if it has been ordered by the physician.

7. The CT scanner is turned on, and the patient is instructed to hold still.

8. The CT scan is acquired, and the patient is then instructed to wait while the images are processed.

9. The technologist reviews the images with the radiologist.

10. The patient is then discharged from the CT suite.

Post-Procedure

Once the CT scan is complete, the patient will be asked to wait until the technologist can review the images. The technologist will then provide the patient with specific instructions on how to care for themselves following the procedure. The patient needs to follow these instructions carefully. The patient may be asked to drink plenty of fluids and avoid strenuous activity for the remainder of the day. The patient may also be asked to avoid eating or drinking anything for a period after the procedure. The patient needs to contact their doctor if they experience any unusual symptoms or side effects following the procedure. These may include dizziness, nausea, or pain at the site of the injection.
