Cholesterol is bad, or at least bad cholesterol is. Bad cholesterol is also known as Low-Density Lipoprotein or LDL, and affects the heart, brain, legs or kidneys. There are things you can do to keep it naturally under control.
1.Avoid poultry and dairy products
Avoid poultry, processed, and fatty red meats. Also avoid dairy products such as cheese, cream, sour cream, cream cheese and butter. These foods contain saturated fat as well as bad cholesterol.
2.Increase fiber intake
Fiber is GOOD! Soluble fiber binds and removes bile, which is made up of cholesterol. Oats, barley, flaxseed, fruits, dried beans and legumes, root vegetables, as well as some whole-grain cereals are a good source of edible fiber.
3.Begin to love greens and veggies
Greens and vegetables must become a strict part of your diet. Devote a couple of weekly meals to a salad diet. Once in a while a cheat salad with low fat cheese or cream can be your treat.
4.Become accepting of loss (losing ain’t always bad)
This is the one loss that you should be extremely proud of, and do everything towards achieving it. Obese people should shed the extra pounds off because weight loss helps lower LDL.
A brisk morning or evening walk, climbing staircases, walking to nearby stores and outlets, joining sports community centers for casual lawn tennis, basketball, etc will keep you moving and your LDL under a watch.
6.Habit and Variety
Be consistent in watching what you eat and how your workout, but keep your diet structure and workout schedule spiced up with variety. That way, you will not want to give it up.
