Pediatric Endocrinology

Pediatric Endocrinology is a sub-specialty which deals with problems in children with growth, thyroid, puberty, diabetes, inter-sex, and calcium and bone related disorders.

The most common disorder which a Pediatric Endocrinologist comes across is related to thyroid—hypothyroid or hyperthyroid problems.  Besides thyroid, other common disorders seen are growth related problems secondary to hypothyroidism or growth hormone deficiency. Early diagnosis and treatment begets excellent results. There is an increase in incidence of early puberty (Precocious Puberty) and if detected early, can be treated appropriately.  Uncommon problems such as calcium, inter-sex disorders are also dealt with satisfactory results.
